This 150 year-old Brooklyn furniture manufacturer had an unique challenge. They already had a thriving business, but wished to elevate their client list and hone in on higher paying projects and become more selective over time. Since Sauer had never before created marketing materials, the slate was clean, we had the unusual opportunity to identify their traits and devise a unique suite of marketing materials, including a wood grained brochure, and custom corrugated envelope.
First we captured their essence with a distinguishing logo mark, also used as a “brand” to identify their work on the insides of drawers, etc. This logo symbolizes, in modern form, a craftsman’s planer as well as the grain of wood, and a thumb print. This thumbprint calls to mind the unique characteristic of the piece, as well as the nature of its materials.
Then, a lyrical writer was hired to translate the old-world techniques into prose, and a photographer to shoot this lost artform, and highlight the craftsmen.
Laura’s ongoing commitment to understanding our industry and our firm’s presence provides us with strategic as well as economical solutions, allowing us to reach both new and existing customers in creative ways which equal our own commitment to quality and craft. — Anthony Morris, President, Walter P.
